Dar, there is no extra battery for the sensor. I'm a little concerned about you wearing it for several days before actually using it. Since the start time counter starts when you first insert it, by the time you start it working, I wonder if you'll only have a few days left. Just thinking out loud. 
And the thing is, once we figure this stuff out, it's really not all that hard. But things don't come with blind-friendly tutorials any more. <grin> I can get through it but no question, I wouldn't mind skipping the experimentation phase. <grin>
