Hi
Yes, now that I use the Libre 3+, I have to pay for my own strips but I get mine through Amazon for about $12 for 50 strips. So I only use them for emergencies when my Libre goes a bit wonky, LOL
I have found that if I just rub the end of the strip with my finger, it usually does the trick, or until I hear "testing" on my Prodigy Voice.
That trick is to get it on that spot.
If I prick my index finger, I take the middle finger and at times the ring finger just to feel where I need to go and then I go backwards, using my fingers, giving me a better feel on where I can dab the edge of the strip.
The Prodigy Voice doesn't take much blood to work but I understand the frustration of getting blood where it needs to go for it to say "testing"
Hang in there and I hope it works out.
Warmly,
Sugar

I bought my own. Insurance companies do not understand this is why we hate testing with strips. I have done the trick of putting an elastic tightly around the finger and that helps puff out the place where I will prick, but there is no good way to guarantee that we get enough blood on the strip.

Subject: [Diabetes-Talk] Prodigy Voice and Blood Test Strips Question please
Hello everyone,
Trust all is well with you and those around you.
Lately, I am facing some issues when testing my blood sugar using blood test strips and Prodigy Voice. I may need more than one blood test strip due to the quantity of blood sample needed to do the reading of my sugar. I do get the following message from my machine: "Blood Sample not enough" or something on those lines. When that happened, I need to use a new blood test strip and sometimes painfully prick myself again.
Additionally, I do wash my hands with warm water, squeeze my hand and fingers before pricking myself. Also, I do squeeze my finger after pricking it and use the test strip at an angle to collect the blood sample.
Having said that and facing the problem again and again, I will run out of my test strips earlier than expected and the only way to get more of blood test strips is to buy them from my own pocket, I believe. So far, I did not go that extreme.
Please let me know if you or you know someone who is facing the same problem with Prodigy Voice and Blood Test Strips and how you are handling it.
Thank you so very much.
Have a nice day.
AB
