Milton,
Those are all great ideas. You are right that it is very important that we get in front of diabetes educators and let them know what our needs are and how best to teach people who are blind or have low vision. Recently, some of us from the task force have been able to speak to various groups about what devices are currently accessible, and what the challenges are in making devices fully accessible, as well as our concerns about when there are technology updates that they can affect our accessibility. Next week some of us will be speaking at a zoom event sponsored by Envision America the makers of Script Talk about accessibility, blindness, and diabetes tools. This event is being heavily marketed to pharmacists who often are also diabetes, educators, and other health professionals along with anyone who might be interested in listening. I will forward the announcement and link to register for this free event in a separate email.
Some other events that are available to access on demand include, an interview with Veronica Elsea on the diabetech podcast. In I believe March and a presentation on. June 26 with the Florida Outreach Center For The Blind. I will also forward the recording of the Florida outreach center for the Blind event, and the podcast of the other event can be found wherever you listen to podcasts.
