[Diabetes-Talk] What do you want in a Knowledge is Sweet Seminar

I agree with Milton. I am personally tired of going to meetings that are
supposed to be education opportunities for those that are diabetic and
blind and they have sighted speakers that want to give people hand outs.
I have also run across this in regards to nutritionists. They don't want
to provide electronic versions of material and what they do give you is
inaccessible.
What is DAN doing to educate endocrinologists and diabetes educators on
what is available for blind people? I am lucky that my doctor okays
anything I need and his assistants have been great at figuring out how
to work with me on things but I have to be the one to give them the
information. While we should learn to advocate for ourselves, a blind
person being told they are diabetic and need to start testing and
counting, etc. does not help them know where to turn.
Just my own frustrations with some things.
