Gary,
Agreed that for any of these pumps, you really need to do your research so that you know what to expect from the device and what kinds of results to expect. You probably ran across in your research that although it is much simpler and you don’t have to enter a lot of information that the resulting time and range is generally considerably lower than what people are getting from other pumps so for people who are satisfied with a time in range of around 70% this pump might be a great option, but for people who want a higher level of control they could be very frustrated.

When added up all the cost it was not going to be worth it in the long run. My endo was trying to make life a bit easier with insulin pumps and doing all the hard core heavy calculation lifting . the advantage of the I let pump , was that you could enter in your weight , the amount of the meal whether it was breakfast, lunch , dinner , or snack, then give it the amount or size and it would doo all the heavy lifting of carb ratios carb counting and adding or subtraction of insulin , and all that messy stuff, that I sometime get and don’t get right . that was the only reason, we decided to take a look at the I let pump from beta bionics.

> Gary, I have not seen the smart phone app because when it first came out, everything was buried deep in menus in the pump and definitely not accessible. I know some people who used it but didn't stay with it because of how it behaved. Here's an example. She kind of figured out how to enter the basics and her meals were pretty much all the same size. Then on a week end, she attended a kids' birthday party. So, as you can guess, what she ate was really different. All during the next week, this pump was blousing based on how she ate over the week end. She was crashing so badly all week that she abandoned the pump. I've heard that some people have better luck if they don't tell it anything about meals.
