[Diabetes-Talk] Help With Dexcomg7

I just wanted to chime in for a minute and tell anyone that may be
thinking of switching to sensors or their doctor has brought it up. The
Freestyle Libre doesn't NOT use a code at any time in the process. So,
you place the new sensor on and then scan with your phone and good to go.

There is an identification code on the bottom of the applicator if there
is ever a recall or your sensor fails and need to request a replacement.
This has happened about four times in four years (3 were back to back
due to a recall). So, this code is NOT part of your daily routine.

You need to make the decision with your doctor on which sensor to use,
but unless there is a medical reason for one over the other, I would go
with the Libre so you don't have to fool with these codes all the time.

The four digit sensor code for each sensor is actually on the applicator on the opposite side of the container from where the large push button is, but I don’t believe it’s on the box. This number has to be entered each time a new sensor is put on because each sensor has a different code. The code on the applicator can be scanned with the camera on the phone so as Blind people, we don’t actually have to use a person or device to read that number.Another thing that is necessary to make Siri work is that within the Dexcom app itself under profile there is a place to enable the Siri feature and either use the default command of Get glucose or enter in a verbal command that you might prefer to use.
