You cannot do this kind of thing with EasyConverter, EasyProducer or Dolphin
Publisher. Unfortunately the current versions on the Dolphin DAISY
production products do not support math and similar symbolic content.
The more folks that Dolphin hears about on this issue, the more likely the
are going to move this up on the list of priorities.

Subject: [Dtb-talk] Producing DAISY Algebra Textbook
This is my first post to this list and it is quite possible that I will show
a true lack of knowledge in the subject area, but following the only bad
question is the one not asked rule, I have a question.
I am trying to convert a PDF file of a basic college algebra text to DAISY.
I am using Dolphin EasyConverter to do this. For this particular conversion,
I am most interested in the mp3 audio file reading in some way that makes
sense. Some of the symbols seem not to be showing up in the document
following OCR. Those most troublesome are the square root or radical signs
and exponent signs. There may be others as well.
Perhaps I need different software; perhaps I would benefit by using a
different OCR engine; perhaps there are language settings in the OCR
settings that should be adjusted; all thoughts are welcomed.
