I had problems on my unit with an older U3 SanDisk Cruzer, even though
its U3 has long since been completely removed with the U3 removal
tool. It would parse the files on the drive, then go "Audio files,
current position" and then beep, the light on the flash drive goes
off, and it says "Cartridge error." I think this may be related to the
USB suspend, and I've read that there's some way to disable that using
an options.xml file, but haven't researched deeply into it yet.

One thing I'd love is a cartridge that can be opened and any SD card
can be put into. Or even a little slot on the side. Seems it shouldn't
be impossible to stuff a USB SD card reader into a cartridge. It's
just will anyone ever do it. :) I believe the APH ones are not
actually card readers with a permanent card, but are instead just a
normal flash drive with a different casing. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

There is a nice, detailed manual available, it was linked to on this
list a couple months ago, it even details the basic service modes so
that you can check your battery status and test flash drives for
compatibility.
