Greg:

This sounds quite interesting.

How have you modified the iPod's software? Also, how do you plan to handle battery issues?

Thanks,

Neil

Subject: DAISY books on iPod Suffles

I am experimenting with loading DAISY books to iPod Shuffles. The idea is a single book is loaded to a second generation iPod shuffle and then the iPod is given or mailed to the user. When the user is finished with the book they would mail it back to us for another book to be loaded onto it.

I have modified the software on the iPod to play the book's audio in order. Navigation is by the first navigation level only. The shuffle will bookmark where you are in the book so you can start and stop it's playback. The books are not loaded via iTunes but by the computer's file manager.

Would this method of distribution be of any interest to any users of talking books? Please let me know.
