Turns out this may be a known issue (look at the comments below the original
article). Also, using the high-quality voice as opposed to the "compact
voice" may help some.

Hi to everyone

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced logging onto BARD problems
after upgrading the iPhone five to version 7.4  also I have just purchased
an iPhone five and am finding the voice quality for voice over extremely
poor any thoughts on these issues?
