[DTB-Talk] Bpooks and Other Stuff on Multiple Platforms

Hello everyone,

If the NLS is working on making BARD Books available via smart speakers that's wonderful!I hope Bookshare.org, Learning Allie, and other producers of books and material in specialized formats do the same.

The inability to access books and other audio and video media on multiple platforms is something we've been in discussions with our business partners about for some time. Currently one can only access their audio and video libraries via a smartphone, their online Websites when they work right, or a tablet. We've been in discussions with our team and our parent company to make their audio and video resources available on other platforms such as smart speakers, Apple TV, Chrome Vox, Amazon's Kindle devices and Roku to name a few. We have a major conference coming up next month. Let's see if they announce availability of their audio and video media on additional devices and platforms.

Just as the NLS has figured out that blind people don't want to be glued to their smartphone, desktop, or tablets to access its content other providers of books in specialized formats and main stream providers of such media need to do the same. Great for the NLS!

I don’t think I understand why you would want to do that. I use a Bose speaker with my iPhone because I like the quality of its sound.
