I am totally blind myself and am very happy with the compact AM/FM 
electric-powered talking clock radio (item no. 835895)I purchased from 
Independent Living Aids/Sound Bytes.  It is very easy to set and has a 
decent analog tuner with three differnt alarm sounds and hourly time
