Having lived in apartments and houses with both as a blind person while I
can use both comfortably I much prefer gas stoves. An advantage if you have
good hearing is being able to hear the gas flow and determining the level of
the flame. The coils on electric stoves retain their heat much longer which
can be annoying. Coils on electric stoves also tend to live rings on bottoms
of pans.
