Hi,

We have a Frigidaire flat top stove with a digital display and controls. It beeps when you press bake and beeps every time you press the up or down temp buttons. My husband and I have the buttons marked with bump dots, which makes it a no brainer. I will say that most of the newer flat top stoves with the digital controls that I have seen on my job at different clients' homes have the beeping features too. We asked around to other blind people to see what they have. I would also recommend having the store let you check it out before purchase.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [Electronics-talk] cooking stove

Hi folks I just moved into a house and I need to get my own stove.
I've never bought one before.
The one that was here is one of the flat top ones, I know that some blind people use them, but I tryed, plus for the oven is a touch screen and there is no way to label it.
So I'm asking for opinions on what to buy.
I like cooking with gas, but I can use eather.
I don't have any usable vision, but am good at figuring things out.
I don't need anything real top of the line, just something basic.
So what have you folks found that works best for blind people?
thanks
