I think you are missing the point on the smart phone side for the larger 
accessibility issue.

Do you expect all phones to be accessible or all the ones you want?

The HTC Ozone is fully accessible, the LG9200 is pretty much accessible 
up to text messaging and most menus, and the LG8360 gives you an 
accessible phone without texting.

You do not have to have an android phone to get accessibility. And all 
people who buy the phone pay the data plan cost.

More interesting is why Verizon is charging 9.95 for the LG phones which 
cannot access email or internet with voice accessibility.
