[Electronics-talk] VoiceSense (wireless?(

Hello!
The Voice Sense cannot handle faster ATT or cable connections. If you want
internet, forget this device.
The Voice Sense cannot handle Wy Fi connections which are faster than up to
54 MBPS. My router can go up to 300 MBPS. The voice Sense acts as if my
connection doesn't exist at all. The device works if I set my router up to
54 MBPS. The problem is all downloads are much slower especially NLS
downloads. If it is at up to 300 MBPS, the downloads go much faster.
My BPP can work with my faster setting but it is the only blindness product
I own which can handle this faster speed. All my devices as computers,
IPhones, a plextalk and my BPP can handle the faster setting. The VS units
my wife and I have cannot handle this speed.
The Net gear router we got from the cable company also works with TKIP and
AES connections at the same time so it can handle most devices.
Unfortunately most of the blindness products cannot handle the high speed
unless it is tkip maybe. I may not have this all down correctly but this
has been my experience.
I have a netbook and I think one's money is better spent getting one of
these or one of the IOS devices with braille display if one wishes to work
with most modern day connection speeds and configurations. Perhaps the new
U2 from Hims may work but won't know this till I actually get one in my
possession! That 6 grand stops me cold.
For what it is worth!
Jim
