If considering an iPad and one has an iPhone, one can consider purchasing the iPad2 without 3 G and setting up iPhone ats a personal hot spot so that iPad2 could be used in those circumstances. This would then use the data plan of the iPhone so depending on phone data plan, one would need to be mindful but it does elominate need for both a data plan on phone and iPad. It depends on data useage needs what would make the msot sense.
Take care.
