[Electronics-talk] questions about Comcast

Accessibility of Verizon FYOS is not much better than the other service
providers. We pay a monthly fee so that others in my house can program the
DVR and look up the program schedule on the TV. I've tried accessing these
things from the internet as well as an iPad and iPhone. Now it has been a
few months since I last tried it, but I'm not holding my breath that it is
any more accessible. I filed a complaint with Verizon who claimed that they
had no idea that their products were not accessible. A customer Rep called
me weekly for 3 months telling me that they were looking into what to do
about the problem. Then he called me once per month to report the same
thing. He was then moved to another position and I never heard another
thing. Last I checked, there was no change.

It's not just Comcast that doesn't care diddely squat about its customers.
Time Warner Cable is just as bad. If I had my druthers I would cancel my
Time Warner cable service altogether, but where I live in Manhattan, it is
impossible to get decent reception with an indoor antenna. Installing a
rooftop antenna is forbidden by my landlord who receives kickbacks and other
favorable consideration from Time Warner for banning antennas and satellite
dishes. Once my area is wired for Verizon Fios,I intend to switch and tell
Time Warner to take a hike.
