[Electronics-talk] UBER

I have to agree with you. I'm always very leery about companies that ask
for your credit card number in advance. Uber have a bunch of cities listed
in the combo box on their web page, but San Francisco seems to be their home
base, so I question the reliability of their service elsewhere. And here in
New York City, there is no way that a black car service is going to be
cheaper than a neighborhood livery cab service. When you click on the
pricing link, they do not provide any pricing information, which makes me
very suspicious. But the biggest red flag of all is the fact that they do
not provide a contact phone number, so there is apparently no way to speak
directly to a customer service agent if you run into trouble. I have always
had problems with unreliable car services, and I would never deal with one
that does not have a contact phone number.
