[Electronics-talk] iPod Touch and Wi-Fi

I am thinking about getting an iPod Touch.  I just want to make sure I understand the unsecured wi-fi part of this.  Is it true that if I am somewhere outside of my home, that people can see what I'm doing on my iPod?  If I'm at a restaurant or something, I would not want strangers tapping into my iPod reading my email.
