If you want to stay away from unsecured networks, the only thing you need to
keep in mind is to make sure that wherever you are using your ipod weather a
restaurant or coffee shop, that they require a password to access the
network. If a password is not required then that means the network is
unsecured. These days most places have secured networks so for the most part
you shouldn't have to worry. Hope this makes sense

I am thinking about getting an iPod Touch. I just want to make sure I
understand the unsecured wi-fi part of this. Is it true that if I am
somewhere outside of my home, that people can see what I'm doing on my iPod?
If I'm at a restaurant or something, I would not want strangers tapping into
my iPod reading my email.

Thanks for your assistance in helping me to understand this.
