So the i-phone 4s cannot be used without ear phones? What about using a
Bluetooth device instead of plugging the jack in?

Dear all,

YThe problem you were likely having was one of conflict between Siri and
Voice Over.

To use them both together, you need to plug a set of earphones in to keep
Siri from getting confused by Voice Over talking in the background.

This will cause a lock up and a hard reset.
