Everything Steve says is true -- and he fills in for me when I am 
unavailable -- and does a fine job.

As I have said previously, occasional advertisement of items of 
interest to blind persons are allowed.  They should be soft sell, and 
not repeated more then every 30 days.

I think that is a reasonable compromise between the all and nothing camps.
