[Electronics-talk] Talking Caller ID for land line

Wow, guess I'd better protect my caller ID with my life. I have one that hasn't been open yet and I'm still using one. They came originally from Quest which is now CenturyLink. They were a very simple ID the biggest problem was that the volume switch would eventually disconnect from the machine. If it was in the max position, you could get along with it for a while. If it wasn't, it was time for another ID. I put the ID at max volume and have left that switch alone. This is, indeed, very disappointing news because I know mine aren't going to last forever.

The sad truth of the matter appears to be that no one sells caller ID units for landlines nowadays. The unit with the male voice used to be made by a firm called Classco. They no longer make any caller ID units; and, for that matter, neither does anybody else. The best that ILA could do for me was to point me to

  www.ebay.com

  No kidding.

Sent from my mac, the only computer with full accessibility for the blind built-in!

Still a very proud and happy Mac and Iphone user!
