[Electronics-talk] Android phones?

Well I use an Iphone now but my first phone was an android phone. I am not
sure what version of Android operating system you are using but the later
versions of Android are much more accessible.

A web site you may want to check out is:
http://www.androidaccess.net/. They have all kinds of how too's and Aps
that are accessible.

Actually I have heard the iphone 4 is more accessible but I have heard
good things about the phone you have. The first thing you want to do is
have someone go in to accessibility settings and turn on accessibility and
then the screen reader talkback. The site will show you all the settings
you need to get your phone going.

Well, I have my Samsung Galaxy S3 in the box ready to send it back to my
sister. She sent it to e as a present for my birthday and that was August
2. I haven't been able to use it to do anything. And no one sighted has
been of any help either. Sorry!

Is anyone happily using an Android phone? I've been looking at the Samsung
offerings. They're a lot more affordable than an iPhone, and seem more
available without signing a 2-year contract, too. And Android doesn't
require me to join the Apple cult following, which seems akin to joining the
Moonies or something. But I keep hearing questions about their
accessibility. The things I want to do are make phone calls, look at
websites, and stream online broadcasts.
Thanks.
Tracy
