[Electronics-talk] Land Phones

I guess menues isn't the really correct thing. It will tell you if the voice
mail is on, tell you the key to search from the base for other phones/phone,
and some other things. I don't think it will give recent calls. I have to
keep my voice mail off on it, though, because I can't get it to use other
than a computer voice which I find extremely irritating and want a person.
Even though I'm not necessarily in love with my voice, I do prefer it to be
the one answering. I have a caller ID which identifies the numbers but so
does the cordless audibly. The caller ID will tell me calls back from a long
way, if I ask it to. In my case by not using the voice mail on the phone but
rather letting it go to the Comcast, I not only get the one I want, but it
allows many rings before it will go to voice mail. Sometimes in coming
around furniture or pulling myself away from some work task, it takes me
several rings, but I have really enjoyed the phone. I don't know if it is
satisfactory but that's what I did. I went to the Best Buy (I believe that
was the one) and got myself some hands-on and decided what I wanted, but I
am completely blind so a readable manual wasn't important to me but I
believe there was one with it.
