[Electronics-talk] Transcription software and audio devices for thehearing impaired

Philip,

I wear two hearing aides. Some of those devices that may be used to amplify
sound are receivers wirelessly connected to a transmiter. This is like what
one uses to get audio description of described plays, etc. The little
receivers have an on/off knob, as well as a knob for volume. I have my own
receiver that also can be set to more than one frequency, which I used
during general sessions last summer at National Convention. I only wish
that system was used at the mock trial and the play I attended since I
couldn't understand either of them. Anyway, some places have a loop system
wherein a whole auditorium, for example, is equiped and the hearing aid user
puts the hearing aids on telecoil to hear the sound. This works for those
of us who have the telecoil feature. Hope this makes a bit of sense.
