There is a model for single stage heating systems, and one for dual
stage systems.  You will need to remove your present thermostat, and the
new one will install there.  The unit speaks the current room temp, and
the temp that it is programmed for.  You can set 4 time zones for each
day, and have different settings for weekends and week days as well as
different settings for heat or AC.  Everything talks.

I remember seeing somewhere, once upon a time, a talking thermostat that
would replace your existing central heat/air  thermostat controller.
Does anyone know where I might find this ?  or if it is not available ,
what is your  experience with  a good indoor/outdoor thermostat? Thank
