You will need Jaws 14 for windows 8.
You might want to try a free program called NVDA to see if it will work.

Subject: [Electronics-talk] Windows 8 and JAWS
Hello list,
My apologies if this topic has been discussed recently, or this is the wrong list.
Has anyone had any experience with Windows 8 and JAWS? I am a totally blind JAWS user, and I have been told that Windows 8 is a large departure from previous Windows versions. I am currently running JAWS 12.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Craig
