[Electronics-talk] Sleep timer for the BARD app for the Iphone

No, once you set up your timer in the clock app to stop playing and you 
start your timer then your BARD book will stop reading when the timer is 
up, and you don't need to be in the clock app or the BARD Mobile app. 
There's a setting in the BARD Mobile app to determine if you'll still be 
able to listen to a book when you switch away from the BARD Mobile app.

Helping each other on these lists is a two way street. Not everyone will 
know that you don't want to know that an issue is discussed in the 
documentation, so they may not just hit the delete key and move on. In 
these cases, you may just want to use the delete key yourself or 
politely ask a follow up question. Remember people helping each other 
out on this and other lists are not paid support professionals, and may 
not understand your level of expertise with the product you're asking 
about, so they may not nail the answer for you on the first try.

I don't want to be accused of talking down to someone, but I do want to 
help, so I tend to make my answers short and to the point. Sometimes 
this means I don't provide enough detail, and I've gotten my share of 
criticism from people who accuse me of being arrogant, talking over 
people's heads or wasting people's times with answers that couldn't 
possibly help anyone. Still, I'd rather err on this side than waste my 
time going into too much detail and then just being accused of talking 
down to someone. I'd rather be short and to the point and then provide 
more information with follow up answers as needed.

Any time you step out into the public you run the risk of being 
criticized, and that's even more true on mailing lists and other forms 
of social media where there's more anonymity. If you're answering a 
question then try to help the person asking the question in the way they 
want to be helped. If you're getting an answer then try to realize the 
person is trying to help, and even if it's a short answer, it still took 
them time to compose it. If it isn't what you wanted then ask a follow 
up question.

We're all different on these lists. For my part, I try to look things up 
on my own before going to a list, so I appreciate it when someone just 
points out to me where I can find the answer and similar answers in the 
future. I'm not criticizing people who do things differently, since we 
all learn best in different ways, I'm just pointing out that what I find 
to be a useful answer may not be what you find to be useful, so don't 
just assume that the person answering your question and trying to help 
you will automatically know how you want your answer. Help those who are 
trying to help you.
