I think you are right, but with the nerve damage in my fingers, it is hard
for me to discern; if we are still here for the next range, it will be gas,
since there is gas into the house anyway for water heating and the furnace.

I have a flat top stove and there is a very slight difference between the
eye and the other surface. Not sure if it's like that on all models though.
