It controls how it is brewed. It's like the old slide thing on a percolator
where you could adjust the strength of the brewing. Pam.

Eh, Sharon? How does a button control the strength of coffee?
I thought it all depend on the amount of coffee one uses, or the color of
the coffee itself.
