[Electronics-talk] Audible Battery Tester

If one only needs relative information about the charge status of
household batteries like AA and AAA then I just use a paper clip. I
use something less than a heavy duty clip and bend it so the 2 ends
will connect with each terminal. Then, the paper clip merely offers
resistance and generates heat according to how much charge is in the
battery. Be careful, a fully charged battery will heat the clip up
quickly to a fairly hot temperature. But, batteries that are quite
discharged will generate little or no heat. This simple method meets
my needs and I use it almost weekly.
