I start by adding a cup of pure vinegar. I leave whatever water in there
that is left in the reservoir so I guess that dilutes the vinegar a little.
I start by pressing the large cup setting through over and over while adding
fresh water about twenty times into the water holder and keep running it
until I taste no more vinegar in the coffee cup.

I haven't done this with ours and probably should, did you just use a 
large coffee cup amount  of vinigar and did you dilute it with water or 
just vinigar by itself?   then run sevral rinses through it? Aren't you 
supposed to let the vinigar sit in there for a while too or did you 
just run it through?
