Have you descaled your coffee maker, since you say you have hard water?
That might be some of the reason why you have to replace them. If you
haven't, try that and see if you can give it new life. Pam.

Hello Brent, I got one in July from Wal-Mart. To my frustration I generally
have to pick a new one up once a year. It may be from the hard water we have
in our well, but they get beat up pretty quick. I am fine with the old
school brewer pots, but my wife just adores the K cup convenience. I imagine
that in the next year or two that most will be touch screen only if not all.

Do they even make the regular non-touch screen brewers any more? I think the
K-cups I use are possibly an off-brand that aren't approved with the
protection thing the new ones have. It depends if Coffee People is one that
is approved.
