[Electronics-talk] Accessible Microwave?

I don't have any button buttons on mine; it's just a flat touchpad that I
have to braille. And now, I have to rebraille, since everything is coming
off. Pam.

One cool tip I got is to get a toothpick and go around keys that are stuck.
That can get out the little bits of dust that build up and clog the area
around the buttons. Then you can either vacuum or turn it upside down to
get rid of the dust particles. FYI, it is also good to use on faucet holes
too. Maybe this will help a little.

I don't know why everybody uses rubbing alcohol for everything. If
anything, you would use denatured alcohol. Rubbing alcohol should be used
for what it's meant for, for medical uses. Pam.

You are correct about the convenience of going to a store & getting
apliences that talk. I found out yesterday that the Panasonic phone I want
can be purchased at any Best Buiy. The cost they gave me was $49.00. Now, I
just have to save enough money so that I can get that phone as soon as I can
being that the California Free phone system for disabled Califrnians just
don't work. One of the buttons on the phone stuck. I tried some rubbing
alcohol as per an operator @ the California free phone program suggested. It
really didn't work. Does anyone know what other thing I could use to unstick
my phone & my computer keys, especially the spacebar.

So, I gather from this thread that only one microwave has buttons on it
which is from panosonic which does not talk.
I would love a microwave with buttons too. Our GE one had to be labeled with
dimo tape. I did not have a problem with the labels falling off.
Only in recent years since its so old, did I have a few fall off.
That's too bad the talking one sold at a regular retail store is not
available anymore.
I always find it cool to find talking products at regular stores such as
radio shack who had or has a talking watch.
This eliminates the need to buy from blindness vendors and wait a while in
the mail for your stuff and pay for shipping of course. How much more
convenient to get a ride to the store, buy it, and operate your appliance or
whatever it is right away when you come home.

Yes, *had* is the important word here, as they no longer do.

hi
There is a Panasonic which has five preset buttons with a touch pad. The
five buttons can do many things although they don't talk.
