First, the remote itself does not talk.  Second, the talking aspect of it you are referring to is called Voice Guidance.  No way am I able to go in to a full tutorial of how to use it here.  Instead, best place to get started would be:

Lots of good info there.  Also, if you go to:

and do a search for “comcast”, you will find a detailed podcast I submitted which gives you more info.
