No, actually, that's not the way that works. I have Chase also and use online bill paying. Chase writes the check for my rent and sends it out. Same with anybody else I've set up as a payee with my Chase bill payment service. I have never had to bother writing a check on my Mac: or, for that matter, even during my windows days.
