Also understand that this new unit will not take the wider tape that most blindness catalogs have in stock. I am glad I got a chance to figure this out in person when I spoke to the company. The reason they gave is because although a lot of catalogs have this tape in stock, it's actually hard to find. The tape they use is now more common. Also they were hoping to make the machine so that when the adapter was plugged in it would run the motor faster, but that didn't happen. You have the choice of six double A batteries or the adapter purchase.
