Peter,

>From within an app or when on any of your pages of apps, press the Home
Button twice to activate the App Switcher.
Use a one finger flick left and/or right to move through the apps that are
open.
When you land on one you want to close, use a 3 finger flick up to close
that app. You Cannot close the "Home" item in the list.
When you are done closing some or all of the apps, double tap with 1 finger
on "Home" to be returned to your Home page.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] Losing Speech When Certain iPhone Apps are
Opened

Hello everyone,

We upgraded our iPhones last Friday and the Voiceover voices remained
the same following the upgrade. What we are having difficulty with is
getting Voiceover back when certain apps are opened without having to shut
down and restart the device in the hopes it will work with the app in
question. I'll need to have a sighted person observe this app's load-up when
it is opened. It may be that it's taking a minute for the app to completely
load temporarily knocking out Voiceover until the loading is complete. If
any of you have had this problem I'd like to hear how to deal with it.

By the way how does one activate the app switcher. By doing so we could
see how many apps are running and perhaps can shut some down giving the
device more free memory to work with. This may be another possible reason
for losing speech when certain apps are opened. Any suggestions will be
helpful.
