[Electronics-Talk] Appliances Control With IPhone

Hello Jim and Others,

Mary and I have an instant pot. We are both totally blind. I use my
iPhone to set the controls. The app is fully accessible and amazing. Last
night I made apple sauce for our 2 2-year old grandchildren. It worked
perfectly. We babysit our grandchildren every Thursday and then feed our
whole family each Thursday evening.

The Instant Pot is a perfect appliance since I can put a pot roast or
chicken or whatever I want in there and come out with a delicious meal to
feed eight in a much shorter time than conventional methods. The food is
really tasty from the pressure cooker since it cooks for less time.
Regarding safety, this is a very safe appliance. It even has different
tones when sealing and unsealing the pressure cooker. The phone app
verbally tells the user if the lid is incorrectly set. There are locks
which prevent the lid from being removed when under pressure. It is about
the size and shape of a Crock Pot and plugs into an ordinary outlet. It is
very safe for anyone, including blind people to use.

It is not necessary to buy the Bluetooth model since the controls all beep
and the buttons are very tactile. They are large and identifiable.

Blind Bargains has a podcast on the Blindbargains.com website with a
demonstration. There are hundreds of videos on YouTube with recipes for the
Instant Pot.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

I must say that I know plenty of blind people who use all the functions of
the Insta pot without sighted assistance.

Of course, if you don't feel comfortable using it without sighted
assistance, by all means don't. But I would not take the company at their
word on what is blind friendly.

Jim
