For those who use an iPhone and want to input a series of numbers, put the number in your contact.  Between each series of numbers, put 2 commas.  This is found by pressing the shift key while in the number pad.  A pause will then occur and your numbers can be entered.

Personally, I prefer the physical buttons and keyboards.  Try using an iPhone on an automated phone system and not input all the keys in time. 
Guess what?  You get timed out.  So the touchscreens do have their DISADVANTAGES in that department.  I love not having choices (not).--Matthew Chao
