[Electronics-Talk] rice cookers

As I mentioned previously, I recommend the Black & Decker RC506 six cup rice
cooker. It is fully accessible and easy to use and is made by a reputable
company. I also have the smaller Black & Decker RC3303 three cup rice
cooker which has worked well for over five years. Their customer service is
the best of any small appliance company I have ever encountered. When the
timer on my Black & Decker toaster oven stopped working after only four
months, I mentioned it in my product review on Amazon, and to my surprise, I
was contacted a few days later by a representative from Spectrum Brands, the
parent company of Black & Decker who arranged to send me a brand new toaster
oven free of charge, no questions asked. I did not have to send them the
broken toaster oven, and the one they sent me was actually a better model
than the broken one. To me, this shows that the company cares about its
customers.

I had an Aroma Rice Cooker and cannot recommend it at all! It worked
for a little while then just died on us. The rice cooker just wasn't
built well enough to handle the electricity going through it. I expect
I'll be replacing that rice cooker but with a brand different from
Aroma. None of the electrical components had direct contact with water
either so why this happened is a mystery to me.
