[Electronics-Talk] What is the big deal about the palaris?

Hi all,

I have a friend who is going nuts because he is getting a pole Laura's.  

I get that it is a tablet with a braille keyboard and display. But, I never understood, and he doesn't understand, if you do gestures like on a regular tablet. If so, great. If not. What's the point?

I guess I sort of feel like it is a glorified real tablet thing, just like the braille note and stuff is basically a glorified laptop with a braille display and real keyboard. Not to offend anyone, just that's how I feel about it. Also it cost way more than a laptop ever thought about. So, I guess I don't get it :-) so, does anybody know exactly what that thing is. And how you use it?
