Hi. Your dishwasher and mine must have come from the
same dishwasher heaven, they sound extremely similar.
Makes me think of the Simpson's episode with the beer factory, same product
different labels.

Hi,
about 18 months ago our dishwasher had to be replaced. It took 6 months of
research and my whining here on the list before we found one. I believe
that it is a GE Profile model 750. There are some letters somewhere in the
model number but I think all they indicate are that it is a Profile
dishwasher and the color. If my memory is correct, there were 3 models in
the series, and the 750 was the one in the middle. Be aware that today's
dishwashers do not have a drying element like the old ones. In my many
trips to various stores, I did not find one with a pressure activated panel.
If there not buttons, it was a "feather touch" or a glass screen that is
activated by some other means than pressure. This does not mean that a
pressure sensitive panel is not out there.
The dishwasher has buttons along the top edge of the door which are easily
located by touch. When the door is closed, they cannot be accidently
activated. There is a few different sounds made when buttons are pressed,
and when the door is opened. While the sounds are helpful to let you know
something has happened, they do nothing for helping you change the settings.
Most buttons control a menu of selections. There is not a top and bottom to
the list of options, so repeated presses of the button just circle you
through the list. The settings remain as they were set for the previous
use, so you can try an approach of set it and forget it. That mostly works
in our house. There is also a way to lock the buttons so that the settings
are not accidently changed when bumped. This strategy has not been
successful in our house. The only time the buttons seem to be accidently
pressed is when you are opening the door. There is a handle on the front to
initially open it, but in order to open it all of the way, you have to let
go of the handle and hold the door along the edge. It is just natural to
grab the top edge.
I have a friend who has a Bosh, and they have found that the set it and
forget it technique works
HTH,
Annette
.

Hi folks. My dishwasher may be about to die, so I did a scouting trip to
Lows. The salesguy was "sure" that "they" make "dishwashers for the blind"
so sure that he has to research it and call me.
Note the sarcasm and quotes.
Can anybody corroborate him? Also what would be the advantages and
disadvantages assuming he turns out to be correct?
