[Electronics-Talk] Comcast remote control warning

Sandy,
I don't know much about digital antennas, but I do know that over-the-air
digital signals are harder to receive than the old analog ones. Be sure to
try to establish what you can receive at your location before spending too
much time trying to find a digital over-the-air solution. Am I correct in
assuming that all of your televisions are the older analog type? Another
option that you may not like is that Comcast at least used to have small
digital to analog converters that were very, very basic cable boxes that
work on their most basic service. We have those boxes and they seem to work
fairly well, and we use them on the lowest level service we can get. If
Comcast is unreliable in your area, though, these will also be unreliable,
and if you are sick of dealing with them at all this isn't a solution. I
live in an inner ring suburb of Minneapolis, though, and we have had a
difficult time getting over-the-air digital signals on my daughter's TV even
though she is on the second floor with windows generally facing the
transmission site. I was surprised it was so difficult. There are a good
number of channels available, though.
Best regards,
Steve Jacobson

I do not know about anyone else but mine does lose all voice features. It
has done it several times. Hitting the reset button does not bring it back
either. I also cannot select channels using the number pad. I have to use
the up and down arrow and go one channel at a time. It takes a visit from
Comcast to fix it. I am tired of paying for the visits so I am
disconnecting their services.

that is entirely correct. The exit key on the Xfinity remote will not lose
control over the remote.
