[Electronics-Talk] best currently-available flip phones

Hi Arlene,

I own the LG Terra flip phone and a few of my customers have bought them too
and love them for low price and accessibility, having a free screen reader,
1/8 inch ear phone jack, bgreat speaker phone, really good sound on head
phones or built in ear speaker or speaker phone, buttons are easy to feel
and have markings on the send, end call, and the 5 way cross controls.

Price is usually around $50.00, I got mine through national Verizon for
$21.00 and they waved the activation fee.

No data plan, bluettoh, can go on the internet, the menus are totally
accessible and you can even take a picture very easy too and attach it to a
text message.

My wife bought her an LG Alt 2 flip phone, because she is sighted and wanted
a little bigger screen and a 5 pixel camera.
It also can turn on full read on on to speak everything, but she said turn
it off, it drove her crazy, since she doesn't need the screen reader.
She paid $79.00 plus $40 activation fee when she upgraded.

It uses a micro usb charging cable just like the victor stream 2 and vr trek
and many other devices.

It is not easy to find in the local cell phone store, since the sales
persons want to sell you a smart phone for much better commission in it for
them.

If you are not wanting a smart phone and the high cost of the smart phone
and data plan, then I would strongly recommend the LG Terra or LG alt2 flip
phones.

Regards,
Roger

I have heard of the Tera phone, but I hadn't thought about that one for a
long time. I've never seen that phone. Due to my experience with the lg 450
and the lg 470, I'm rather hessitant about lg phones. I won't say that they
are all awful, but something is very wrong where when the speech goes out on

the phone, especially after the first night of having the phone. The lg
phones with the speech seems to work a bit differently than some of the
other phones, in some ways I think that could be improved, but at least they

did in cluded the speech on some of their phones.
