[Electronics-Talk] Sirius XM and spotify on amazon echo

Also, support for Amazon Music is built in. There is a limited selection of
music available if you have an Amazon account. If one has Amazon Prime, one
can access quite a bit of music. Amazon has an Unlimited plan as well that
is more or less similar to Spotify. It might be a little cheaper than
Spotify if one already has Amazon Prime. You do not need to use another
device to play music and you don't with Spotify either. Another device
might be helpful if you want to create your own playlists, but there might
be ways around that as well, I have not gotten into that.

There is supposed to be the ability to stream through Alexa from iTunes or
something similar from Apple. Did anybody see anything in Apple's streaming
announcement about this? I liked the ability to use iTunes' Music Match
service which let me upload music I already had and have that music
available through iTunes. Amazon Music had a similar ability but they
eliminated that service.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

If you get the XM Sirius streaming service, you can use it from the echo.
You have to set it up in the Alexa app, but you can then tell Alexa to play
Stations. The tricky part is that you have to know what the names of the
Stations are. You can also use the iOS app to Play stations and discover
their names, but it is clunky and parts of it are not accessible.

You can certainly use Spotify on the echo, which is a more traditional
service where you ask for particular songs, albums, or genres to be played
on your echo from Spotify.

Hope that helps,

Jim

the Alexa app or can you just use the echo?

to have an Ipad or some tablet or phone running just to listen to the music.

from it? Can you search for and select certain songs? I used Pandora on the
pc and found you can pick a certain song, but after that it moves onto
similar songs.
