I am also interested in this topic.
My library switched to Libby last year, and it is not very accessible. There is even a blurb when I enter Libby with VoiceOver, saying they know it's not very accessible, and "they're working on it", but I see no progress, so they're not working on it very hard, if at all.

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] accessible book apps
Hi all,
I'm interested in using other apps and websites with ebooks to expand my reading opions. While I cannot read standard books at the library, I do hope the apps they offer with a lot of content are accessible.
I already know about the Bard app. I am hoping to use mainstream free resources for ebooks and e-audiobooks.
Please tell me if you have experiences with the following apps. What platform do you use? If you found accessibility issues, what are they and did you find work arounds?
Some are free apps for anyone and others require a regular public library card.
A handful are for buying books but do offer free trials.
• Librivox
• Kanopy
• RB Digital
• Overdrive
• Goodreads
• Hoopla Kids
• PBS Kids
• Scribd
• Kobo
I’m beginning to use IOS.
My library gives us patrons access to Overdrive and RB digital and Kanopy. Kanopy offers more videos including lectures you can stream. Since I have connections to kids in my extended family and like to assist kids in volunteering, I’m interested in kid apps too.
Thanks.
Ashley
