The one I had was commercially made -- but you could certainly make your own if you were handy!

I once had a small foam block that had an angle on it, and you leaned the phone against it, and there were grooves to hold the phone.  If you look on amazon.com for iPhone 8 stand I would bet there are dozens of devices out there, or you can make your own.

Hi Arlene.
I have the iPhone 8.
Last night, I put it in a small dish and stuck something behind it to make it stand up.  That seemed to work OK, but if there's a neater solution it would be good to know.
